Accordion Card Holder

Hello everyone,

After taking care of some things on the home front, I decided I needed to make something other than cards or a purse. I happened across Split Coast Stampers and there was a tutorial by Jane, a fantastic crafter who lives in my area AND is a teacher at the craft store I frequent. We blogged a bit and finally met at one of the Copic classes she taught there - it was a lot of fun.

Jane is so very creative and such a sweet soul. I couldn't have been more inspired than to try to make this little goodie myself. I liked the outcome so much that I'm going to make a bunch more (for holiday gifts) for my relatives who enjoy my cards.

The paper is K&Company (Tim Coffey's collection) and double sided. I am such a paper addict. Having this tutorial for this paper was perfect.

The pin came from a lovely lady that I did a paper swap with - it worked well sitting atop the bow (an endless supply of ribbon that I won from AAM). I didn't have a magnet, so I had to compromise with the button, which worked well.

The inside tabs were smeared with Tsuneko Versa Magic ink (Aloe Vera).

Thank you Jane for making this such an easy tute to follow! Thanks y'all for stopping by!

Happy Crafting! :-)

It's time for a Teddy Bear Purse

Good morning y'all:

Don't you love finding a simple project that is easy to make and doesn't take you all day to make? I'm a simplistic person to the max! I found this pattern on the computer (can't even remember the source...ugh, I hate when I don't note that when saving the pattern but that was when I first started blogging). Anyway, the extra plus is that this pattern can be printed on any colored card stock.

Of course, you can always cut a master template and use it to cut on other card stock.

It's a simple pattern - you simply cut on the lines. The dotted lines are for scoring.

The red double sided sticky tape works best as it will hold the pieces together better than your typical adhesive runner.

If you're familiar with making boxes, it is easy to figure out where to adhere the tape.

It is even easier to see how it all comes together.

Isn't it too cute? The bear is a button (I snipped off the loop in the back of it) that I adhered to the front to keep the top flap closed. It has enough room to put a few pieces of chocolate in it and give to a friend. *smile* Wouldn't that brighten someone's day?

Blogger doesn't allow attachments so if you'd like this template (it's a .pdf file), just send me an email (terryouboub@yahoo.com) and I'll be happy to share. I think it might be a Stampin' Up! file someone sent me last year that I never used.

Happy Crafting! ;-)

Out Comes Tilda...

Hello there lovely bloggers,

It has been awhile since I've done a Magnolia-licious Tilda. I was lucky to find these at the local mercantile and will have to go back because I fell in love with this stamp when I caught sight of it last year when I first started blogging. Next month will be my one year anniversary so I've got to join the rest of blog land and do a blog celebration with candy, so stay tuned. :-)

Onto my card - I have been practicing coloring for awhile and plan to take a Copics Certification class in September (it's finally coming to the bay area - Oakland). I really enjoy creating around Tilda. I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments
: "3 Design Papers"
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - "Paper Piecing"
Papertake Weekly - "Cutie Patootie"
The Creative Cottage Challenge - "Touchy Feely"
The Town Scrapper - "Anything Goes" - This is their last post until after labor day and today is the LAST day to enter - so if you've a mind to, hurry! :-)

As Friday lurks in the midst to open for another quick weekend, I hope you're having a blast! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting! :-)

Say it with flowers...

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all had a groovy weekend! The weather was nice and it was a perfect time to relax.

I guess by now you know how wild I am about flowers. I created an easy card with flowers that were large enough to cover most of the canvas. The butterfly came with the digital flower package. I outlined the lines in stickle - the color was already there and that was all I had to do. I have to say, it was quick and easy - the way I like it! :-)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a super wonderful day!

A Floral Delight

Hello there everyone!

Today, I have a really cute card to share with you. I just love the paper by K&Company ("Best of Brenda Walton" collection). The beautiful flowers are at the border, so I cut them to fit my card.

I cannot tell you how much I love Wild Orchid flowers, their versatility to adapt to any craft element and how much beauty they add to a simple card. They are easily placed alone as I did on top or in the center of this ribbon flower I made (copying the one someone sent me in a recent swap).

My image is a freebie from "D2D". I tried to find the website but couldn't; however, the majority of my free digital images are from Free Digital Stamps. If you haven't been there, check it out and become a follower. Allison started this blog and she and her crew have done an incredibly awesome job locating free digi's! How cool is that? If you're a digital stamp artist, she'll gladly add your info to her side bar. Go check it out...you will love what she finds for free!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Wild Orchid - "Say it with Flowers"
Creative Inspirations - "Use the Oldest Thing in your Craft Stash" (the green card stock)
Cute Card Thursday - "School's Out for Summer" (Yep...flowers are alive in summer)
Easy Craft Projects - "Summer"
Kraftin' Kimmie - "Pink it Up!"
Pollycraft Monday - "Bold & Bright"

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting! :-)

Beary Nice

Good morning lovely bloggers,

I hope you are doing well this Saturday. I am posting this on Friday because I'll be away this weekend - with family. I've cooked and packed....and am ready to hit the road, Jack! :-)

Today I wanted to share something with you. I love bears and Beccy's bears are the absolute best! Beccy is a fabulous blogger who posts the most creative crafts with great coloring - even tutorials to help you along the way. Not only that, but she provides FREE digital images so that you can make your own paper craft. Check her out - I did and became a follower - she has too many smart tips to miss out on.

She mentioned that the bear could be a girl - just make the overalls pink, so I did. I made her a little smaller before printing and colored her up all cute, even adding eye lashes and a bow. Too cute, huh? I really love this card - something I could give from both me and King Mufasa - teehee!

Have a wonderful weekend, y'all! Thanks for stopping by! :-)

A Spoon Full of Sugar for Michelle...

Hey y'all,

I came across another blog...A Spoon Full of Sugar...I haven't been in their challenges of late but I follow and was browsing through blog reader and learned one of their DT members, Michelle, had been in an accident. It's unfortunate because apparently she's had to go through a lot of surgery. You can read more about it on here or even on her own blog.

So their team (I follow a few people on their team....heehee) is asking people to send cards to cheer her up and you know I love to cheer people up. So I made this donkey card (Michelle loves animals); the donkey designed by Melissa Jenkins and sentiment by Ann Veto (if I got that correct). It's the cutest little guy, isn't it?

inside (sentiment by Anne)

So I am sending my card to Michelle with hopes that it will cheer her up. It does a heart good to bring sunshine to someone else, doesn't it? :-)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a fun filled week!

Good morning everyone!

I have been busy preparing for our annual family picnic, held in Antioch (another hot place in northern California) this Saturday. This is a tradition passed on by my grandmother and her children really kept it up for as long as they could. There are only two left out of the sixteen and it is for my generation to keep it going. Being in our golden years, we're trying to get enthusiasm from that "X-er" generation to continue it...hmmmm...we'll see....

In the meantime, I've inked up another fun Stella. I was watching the success story of Pixar Studios on CNBC last night and it reminded me of the days I worked as an Executive Assistant and the early days of a certain hand held computing company. Boy...talk about the good old days. Stella's "out of my mind" message is something I'd wanted to say when people called during our IPO stage, but you know...you have to be professional and keep your thoughts to yourself. That's why there's Stella from Bugaboo stamps! :-)

Thanks for stopping by. Have a super wonderful day!

A New Challenge Blog...I'm Wild About It...

Hey y'all,

I was browsing through the blog reader and happened across Suzi's blog and guess what...there's a new challenge blog in town. It's probably everyone's favorite: Wild Orchid...Woohoo! Yeppers, and the design team is complete with all the fabby ladies that really do sensational cards - you gotta join in.

Right now, there's a great prize package just for mentioning it on your blog....oh boy, loads of bloggers have already joined in but you never know... *big smile*

An Award - Thank you Judy!

Good morning y'all!

You know, my blogger friend, Judy, is very talented. She makes really great crafts and optimizes the use of her Cricut (unlike me). On Sunday, she posted an award she received and I went to congratulate her and learned that she'd included me as one of the recipients to receive it from her. Wasn't that sweet? Thank YOU Judy!

This award comes with a set of rules...

1) Thank the person who gave it to you
2) Tell seven things about yourself
3) Pass the award on to five bloggers whom you think are fantastic.

Seven things about me that I haven't already disclosed...

1) I am really blessed by God and need to remember that more often.
2) I love Food Network - it really inspires me to cook and boy can I cook!
3) I love to spend money - just wish I had more to spend. (heehee)
4) I love to create crafts and never get tired of it.
5) I love to read (trying to catch up on the last two of the Harry Potter series right now).
6) I am an obsessive compulsive - yep, they call it OCD.
7) I love blogging and meeting new friends; love all the talent out there.

I'm passing on this award to 5 bloggers who I think are fantastic....please do visit them and you'll think so too...

*Maganda Memories - Myra does vintage so eloquently.
*Peanuts and Peppers Papercrafting - Lisa, my crafty Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.
*Mulberry Station - Nancy, a very talented and sweet crafter.
*Crom's Cubby Hole - Helen, a super crafty and wonderful crafter.
*Rose Petal Creations - Sandra, so supportive; takes card making to a higher level.

I'm so happy these women are a part of my blogging world - they make it special like so many of my other blogging buddies!

Thanks again Judy! :-)

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day!

Today promises to be a beautiful day - my little brother is coming over to BBQ but we're having sandwiches because next weekend is our annual family picnic and I can't do BBQ again. Besides, he just wants to "hang out" with King Mufasa and play dominoes. I'll be crafting, not slaving away over a hot stove...hahahaha (well, after I do a little house cleaning)!

Isn't this cute? I received this in a swap that I did last month at Swap-bot. It was a matchbook swap and the pattern was given to us but I didn't realize it was a "mini" matchbook - so I created a larger template (my partner was thrilled). Now I need to make this little mini.

Inside were brads and other little goodies like this Uncle Sam foam die. It's so cute I couldn't use it (silly of me, isn't it?).

Look how my partner decorated the inside, with a flag - too cute! Sorry that I have the box upside down...duh! :-) I loved this little matchbook. I'll make the mini and post the template at a later date. For now, have a Happy 4th of July! Be safe!

Stella...

Happy Friday!

I could hardly wait to ink up my new Stella stamps from Bugaboo Stamps. There is a fantastic sale going on with 50% off EVERYTHING - so I had fun shopping. I'd been wishing I could get a bunch of Stella's and when Jodie announced the sale, I was in craft heaven!

I chose a number of Stella stamps and started inking them up - you'll see more of these babies.

I thought working girl Stella should be all dolled up in red with her dazzling red shoes because she is working hard. :-) I used glossy accents on her glasses but the light isn't reflecting well off of it. I added red gems and a red bow for that special effect. I inked up the edges with Versa Magic "red brick" (by Tsuneko). Don't you just love what my girl is telling you? This actually goes with another Stella but I switched it because Stella is too comfortable at her age to really do any hard work! Teehee....

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day! :~)
