Now that the illustrious Christmas has come and gone, what's next? Oh yeah, cleaning up. Isn't it a tedious task to take down all the decorations and repack into the boxes, put back into storage and put everything back the way it once was? *sigh* But wasn't it all worth it? Yep !
I am a simple card designer and so I'll be putting this card into the ABC Challenge - "Keep it Simple".
I hope you all have a wonderful week. Thanks for stopping by.
I have my eldest son, Markus, here with me for the holidays - he is drawing images as I schedule this post. It's nice to have my cards all done and mailed out and I can work on fun projects while watching the hustle and bustle of the season. *smile* Look what came in the mail for me today:
Isn't she gorgeous? When I saw this little darling on Mrs. A.'s blog (It's an Alien Life), I thought, how cute and what a lovely pinafore. Mrs. A. sewed this little delight herself. I used to make dolls for my mom, so I can appreciate a fellow doll maker. The embroidery is perfect - I love the button eyes and the embroidery floss hair - an amazing work of art. In fact, Mrs. A. is an amazing woman. While we make cards and paper crafts, she designs masterpieces using fabric and let me tell you, it's always AMAZING! She's a beautiful woman with talent far beyond my dreams with a gorgeous daughter, Faye, who delights all readers with her scrumptious cards and entertaining dialogue (oh, don't let me forget Doc Shingles and brother Ross - what a fun family!).
Mrs. A. wrote that she thought I would like to adopt Terri Anne and she's so right! This little lady will be in my craft space with me along with that gorgeous embroidered box I won from Mrs. A. earlier this year. *sigh* Woo-hoo.....it's Christmas - thank you Mrs. A.!!
This is it, y'all - this week is Christmas and if you aren't ready...uh-oh...there will be mad dashing back and forth to get this and that finished, eh?
You know the other day, I posted a card and then re-posted it, forgetting it had already surfaced; doh! ;-) Luckily no one said anything...hehee..senior moments never miss a day with me. Thank goodness all I have to do is the baking of sweet delicious Christmas cookies.
What are you doing this last week before Santa arrives?
How y'all doing out there in blogland? Are you running back and forth to the stores, getting this and that, checking your list and checking it twice? *smile* I hope you're able to enjoy some free time and can sit back and look at your beautiful Christmas tree and smile knowing you are going to delight some wonderful people in your life next week when Santa comes to town (wink, wink). :)
I really had fun making my cards this year - even received orders for other types of cards - cool, isn't it? Well, since the order is from friends, I'll just give it as a gift. :-)
I don't know about you but I have packed up my Christmas craft plastic bin and I'm done - no more cards to make - I've mailed them out and now I can concentrate on the cookies I'll make to take to my sister's house next week. Um, Yum! ;-)
I was so excited when my lovely friend, Sandra sent me Tilda. This is the one stamp at the top of my enjoyment list. I could stamp and color Tilda all day long. I especially like this card because I used pink paper from Susan's Crafty Chaos shop. She has really great digital papers - don't you just love this design? Her coordinating papers work so well, too.
I'm entering this card in the "Cute Card Thursday" challenge - Floral Frenzy.
I hope you're ready for Christmas because it is around the corner. :-~)
Well, the rain has finally reached our little corner of the world and it makes for a perfect day to scrap, make cards, etc.
Have you finished your Christmas cards yet? Maybe you joined one of the blogs that did Christmas all year long and never had to worry about it.
I hope you're staying warm and dry. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment. I'm organized enough now that I can stop by and do the same - yay! :-)
Awhile back, sweet blogging friend, Monica, had so graciously sent me beautiful papers from her country, Indonesia. She'd wanted to give me a gift for Ramadan - wasn't she sweet? Well, I never imagined how gorgeous the papers would be. She also makes wonderful cards, many of which she donates to charity - check out her blog.
It was difficult to cut them so that they would fit in my folder and for the standard card size I typically make.
My lovely friend, Sandra, sent me some Tilda images and really made me happy because I'd been wanting to do some creating that was not for a specific project, but for fun. Well, I had myself a grand old time creating a bunch of cards and practicing my coloring. Isn't that paper from Monica gorgeous? The texture is really fantastic!
Blue is my favorite color and making this card was an absolute pleasure. I am also entering it into the following challenges:
I am so glad that I have finished crafting all of my Christmas cards and even mailed them. I have a few extra for "just in case."
Brrrrrr...it's cold outside. There's no snow but I am freezing, y'all! When I mentioned to my friend, Sandra, that it was a freezing 61 degrees here, she laughed. She's in the UK and apparently they already have snow and the temperature is below zero. BRRRRRRR!!!
I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Tellen's Place is show casing some really fab cards made by the lovely and talented Sandra to highlight our fantastic Christmas images. Have a look-see...any image purchased at our store will automatically be given a 25% off discount! Woohoo! ;~)

Ahhh...don't you just love that crisp air? It's so awesome to feel the cold (and run back inside and get warm again) knowing that somewhere it is snowing. Which usually means Santa is getting ready for that wonderful trip...
I have finally finished making Christmas cards to send to friends and family. I used the images from Tellen's Place Designs drawn by my so, Markus, who is coming to visit for the holidays; how fun! This is a fun Diva to ink up. I added fluffy snow (sent to me by my friend, Lyn) and stickles on her thigh-high boots - oh yeah baby - she's really helping Santa! It worked out swell with Santa on the paper - just added a sentiment and it's "ret-ta- go!"
Here are the challenges I'm entering this card in:
King Mufasa and I will be visiting my cousin in San Francisco for Turkey Day and though I won't be cooking a feast for us at home, I am bringing a side dish and dessert.
Although I didn't make a traditional card with the turkey, I know that we honor this day with giving thanks. I have so much to be grateful for and I hope that everyone is having a wonderful day whether observing this day or not - enjoy it because guess what - next comes Christmas!
Are you ready? Are you going out on Black Friday? Will you do the 3 am on Friday or the 10pm on Thursday - pretty slick of the stores to get you after you've gobbled up all that turkey huh? Heehee...whatever you do, be safe!
Thanks to all of you who posted such sweet greetings for my birthday. We drove to Reno to get away and had a great time. The hotel was super and upgraded our standard room to a deluxe spa room...so you know we kids really had fun!
You know, every once in awhile, I like to create without using digital or stamped images. I'm so proud of this card, as it really came together quite nicely.
Card stock: Stampin' Up! Flowers: Wild Orchid and Prima Butterfly Punch: Stampin' Up! Ovals: Blogger friend Brads and pearls: from stash
Happy Friday and here's to a great crafting weekend! ;-)
This post, like yesterday's is scheduled because I'm out of town...celebrating ---woohoo!! But I wanted to share a card I made because I hate seeing the same card on my blog for too long. :-)
I have a bunch of these little envelopes and thought, hey, time to utilize all those scraps that I'm accumulating. I used my MS border punch, added a simple embellishment on the front.
They are very simple but don't you think they would make great "note card" sets for someone? You could put the whole thing into a regular sized envelope and mail it.
The digital images are about 3", and fit perfectly on a card that slips into the envelope.
These were easy and fun - a great way to use up your scraps wouldn't you say?
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you're having a sensational day! ;~)
When Markus designed this diva, I never knew how much fun I'd have with her. Lyn, my friend (and Sr. Designer over at Tellen's Place) sent me a boat load of these sticker type borders or edges - not sure what you call them. I can't find them here but apparently in the UK, they are in abundance. I fell in love with them seeing them on my buddy, Sandra's cards - so she sent me oodles of them too! I'm so in love with them.
This card is for ME!! To celebrate a special day today: my BIRTHDAY!
Now this card I'm sharing today is one I love - she is the Hollywood Diva, one so cutely drawn by my son. The papers are from Susan's Crafty Chaos and they worked perfectly for this Diva!
We have a fun challenge over at Tellen's Place - use a black background - super easy! Come join in the fun! We have great images at the store whether it be signature images or the dark and creepy ones - fun stuff for everyone!
I've been blessed with another award from a special blogger friend, Mrs. A. - the "A" is for Alien; her life....just kidding - that's the name of her blog. If you've never been to her blog, you will find it is a treasure trove of wonderful crafts.
She has inspired me to get out the sewing machine - yep, I bought a small one that wouldn't take up a lot of room - she is indeed a star seamstress. She doesn't need a machine, either.
I've also been given this lovely award from Heather who has just opened a new shop and is on Facebook and Paper Craft Planet! Did you know her digi's now come in rubber...woohoo! This woman is really doing her "thang!" You go, girl!
So I have to tell you three things about myself that are different from anyone else. Hmmm....
1. Even with printed directions, I will certainly get lost every single time. 2. When I was a kid, I used to "steal" sugar from the sugar bowl - yummy. 3. My fear of flying compels me to help the pilot steer the plane (telepathically).
This is a fun award and I want to share something about these two lovelies! Mrs. A., as I've mentioned is very crafty and if you've ever visited her blog, you'll also be delighted with wonderful stories of various things - very entertaining. You'll see where Fluff gets her fun and witty stories she tells on her blog....oh yeah...Fluff is Mrs. A.'s delightful daughter. There's a son there who has been absent because he's been busy being a Daddy and not to leave out the ever present, Doc Shingles. Now, what's not to enjoy in this wonderful family! ;-)
Interesting bit of embroidered cloth, wouldn't you say?
Look at the beautiful box she created with that lovely fabric that she embroidered herself!
This lovely prize became mine...yep, I WON!!! Woohoo! ;-) I like to tell people I made it when they see it...but I usually fess up after letting them think I'm so ultra talented. Heehee...
I'm also a really big fan of Heather's images. I've colored a bunch of these and love making cards with them, which I'll be giving to my sister so that she can have to give to her friends - she loves my cards. :-) Heather is so talented, don't you think?
Thank you, Mrs. A. and Heather for thinking of me. It's really great to know so many talented women and how very thoughtful they are to think of others.
Thanks for stopping by - y'all have a super fantastic Friday!
I have another card using Heather's wonderful image - something I made using a pin. I'd been swapping on Life at the Scrap Beach and one of the swaps I entered was "Pins". You'd be surprised how creative one can get with a simple stick pin. This one, I colored the off white ball purple using a Copic pen, added coordinated beads and inserted it into the bow of this card.
Heather is a delightful friend I met through blogging. I fell in love with her cute images. Don't you love the hair and that cute heart mouth? Right now, she's having a party on her blog. She has a new store and her images are wonderfully categorized - what a fantastic new store! You'll see a bunch of Angel Cakes (above)...she's such a cutie.
I added Stampin' Up!'s Crystal Effects to the balloons to give it that sort of "mylar" look and stickles to the wings. I used my MS border punch to add a little life to those dull purple card stock squares. The gingham ribbon gives the polka dotted paper just a little life and the bling adds depth with the circles. A simple and cute little card, I'd say.
Thanks for stopping by - have a great week y'all.
Happy Crafting! :~)

Good morning y'all,
I hope everyone had their sugary fill of the delights of yesterday. It was quiet here - no little ones and no one came to the door...times have changed - but the boob tube was on and there was plenty of scary movies to watch!
This card was created using Heather's gorgeous mermaids. I really enjoyed this card because the lines are easy and I love the wavy hair. Aren't these two cute? Heather is a really creative artist and she's having a DT call on her blog right now. And if you like, you can also go shopping for her fantastic images at her store.
I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
If you have a sweet tooth, today is a perfect day - send those kidlets out all dressed up in spooky costumes and they're bound to come back with a bevy of candy they'll be happy to share with you!
My friend, Pam had sent me a bunch of these fantastic little envelopes - aren't they great for those little scraps to make cards with? I decorated the outside of the envelope with a glittery pumpkin die cut from K&Company and a beautiful border punched card stock piece that my Diva friend, Sandra sent me along with a bunch of other great borders punched on the prettiest papers!
I punched out a spider with my MS spider punch, added Witchy-Poo Ally from Tellen's Place Designs and called it a day!
Today is Sandra's birthday! Happy birthday Diva! She is feeling a tad better - thanks everyone for your well wishes! ;-)
Here's wishing everyone a fun, safe and Happy Halloween!!
It's Friday - aren't you glad? It's Halloween weekend and there is going to be some fun going on all over this weekend!
This autumn card with Edward and Ally (Tellen's Place Designs) is so cute. Ally is having fun in the leaves while her brother looks on, hoping to rake them up. We're having a sale - buy one, get one free - go check out Tellen's Place!
I love the tree and the leaves that were sent to me by Diane. It really makes this card fun. The embossing is a nice addition to the background with the swirls as though the wind was blowing. Ahhhh...autumn - a beautiful time of year.
I hope you like my card. Have a super fun weekend and thanks for stopping by!
