Look at this heart peaking from inside the envelope...to be sealed with a kiss! Heather's Coffee Break is having a release tomorrow and you'll have a chance to see all the new stuff. I have inked up some fun cards to go along with her release. You might want to stop by and check out her blog to see what she has starting tomorrow until Sunday, January 3rd. What a cute way to bring in the new year!

Come back tomorrow because I'll have another card with one of Heather's cute designs! ;D

Snowfolk

I hope everyone is having a relaxing time now that the blustery days of Christmas are over. Are you looking at the tree and dreading having to take it down or do you have one of those disposable ones that gets tossed out on the curb to be hauled away at the appropriate pick-up date? Heeheeh...

Well, I am doing my crafting thing and relaxing. Heather (Heather's Coffee Break) had put up some free digi's a week ago and I grabbed a few to post. I love her snowmen. In fact, she is sponsoring Sweet Sketch Wednesday's recent challenge. She supplied their design team with some cuties - you should go check them out.

So, I inked up the couple and outlined them in blue Copics, added snowflakes and gems.

Brrr....baby, it's still cold outside! ;D

I'm Proud to Design for Glue, Paper Scissors

Good morning!

I have some exciting news to share with you!

I am now a proud designer for Glue, Paper, Scissors. Imagine how shocked I was when they named me Top Artist of the month for October this year. So you can imagine my excitement when I learned I was a part of this fabulous team...oh boy...you know how sometimes things don't go your way and then your day is brightened by a special e-mail that said YES! Woohoo - through the roof - yes! ;D

*Inhaling* I have to tell you a story. One day, I saw someone following me and I had to check her out. So, I liked what I saw and followed this person. She had some amazing crafts and she was so cool - Ms. Dee. At the time, it didn't enter my mind that she was a designer on GPS. I followed the blog and was amazed. Most of you know, I do cards more than scrap layouts. But being so inspired by GPS, I took up a challenge with them, and another...and so on. I even ventured into another blog that did scrap layouts. Next, one that focused on just me. I was in paper heaven! So, you see...you never know where a path will lead you.

So stay tuned because all of the challenges for GPS will be featured here. The line-up for January through March 2010 is going to be exciting, y'all. There will be prizes, so don't fall asleep - you'll miss something! ;D

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas...

Isn't it amazing how quickly Christmas zooms in once we've reached the month of December?

Have you completed all your tasks? Do you have your dinner menu all lined up? Are you having family to visit? My cousin invited us to spend Christmas with her and her family - isn't that sweet? This is a cousin I've always admired and wanted to be like. ;D She's all about family, too.

So I wanted to send holiday wishes to all of you and made this card for that purpose. I am entering it into two challenges: Sweet Stampin' (punches) and Sketch Saturday (sketch #82). Both design teams put on a fabulous show with their designs, so make sure to check them out.

I punched up my snowflakes w/my MS punch. I also used my MS lace punch for the dark greenish paper that the red paper is lying on top up. This image drawn by my son is colored with Copics. The simple layering is courtesy of the sketch - I do love sketches! ;D

With that, I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Thank you for your support and comments - I really appreciate them.

Let's Celebrate...

I'm playing with the dollies again...the Design Dollies, that is. :D

If you're out hopping today, browsing blogs, don't forget to hop on over to The Design Dollies because the challenge is ultra cool. Guess what it is...it's something super fun! Yeppers...you get to do a design with your favorite drink...how cool is that? The design team dollies made some yummy cards of their favorite drinks - sweet stuff, y'all - better go check it out! ;p

Okay, so my favorite drink is not really Korbel champagne but it made me think of it because I did indulge during the holidays for celebratory reasons. :0 I had fun with this challenge because it made me think of paper piecing the bottle. I got the stamps from Michael's for a dollar - oh yeah! I stamped on green and white card stock, paper pieced them and even add bling for the fizz on the one bottle (the other one is empty...heh heh). Now that was a chore - had to use a wooden stylus to keep those babies in line. I added some dew drops from the Robins' Nest, added red ribbon and tied a bow. The green patterned cardstock is from DCWV Old World stack. I made a template from Bo Bunny's chunky charms chipboard - gives the card some zing.

I hope you like it.

Trying again...

Um...looks like I was a bit late for the SophistiCats challenge (flowers and verse), so I will be trying it again. The theme this week is "Christmas - anything goes." Now, this is their last week, so if you're thinking of joining, now is the time...don't be a late freight like me. ;D

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:

SophistiCat - Christmas - anything goes
Practical Scrappers - Christmas
Friday Sketchers - Sketch 82
La La Land Crafts - Pink and Green
The Pink Elephant - Christmas

This image is from Humble Pie Stamps that I won from my blogger pal Leah during one of their blog hops; darling girl! I really love these images. Doesn't she look like she was caught trying to find out what was inside the gift (like we used to do when we were kids)? ;D

Have a peek at the blogs listed above and see the samples by the design teams - they really are something special and sweet. If I could just use their samples for MY Christmas list. :D

Just flowers and a verse...no image...

The beauties at SophistiCats Challenge have such a gorgeous challenge this week - you should pop on over and take a look. The challenge is to create a project using just flowers and a verse - no image. I loved it! I really love to put flowers all over my projects - cards, scrap book pages, mini albums; no matter what the project - flowers are just a very happy, perky, sensational way to bring color and beauty to something, isn't it?

So, I found a definition, not really a verse, but I hope it counts: "Dream: to have a vision or ambition; to think something might be possible." I thought this kind of wording was perfect for anyone who had a dream and didn't think it would ever happen - it's possible! This is card was then adorned with peach and green flowers from Prima Marketing. Since the paper had stars on it, I added some gems to make it pop! The paper already had the bling on it -- wasn't that too cool? I wish I knew where I'd gotten it (years ago). It worked for me. I punched some leaves to complete the "portrait" of dreaming.

I hope you like it.

Color Combo Challenge

The new challenge in town is Sweet Stampin' featuring Stampin' Up products. Without a doubt, i am a fan of Stampin' Up products! I was thrilled to see a challenge blog with emphasis on their products; although you do not have to use their products - but isn't it nice if you did? :D So I did.

Here is the color combo challenge:

The design team are wonderfully creative and have provided beautiful samples by which you can be inspired. You should check out their blog and see what's cooking - you're gonna love it!

I used my SU card stock (brilliant blue and the light blue). I colored my SU image with pencils and Copics. I added olive flowers to complete the "use at least three colors" for the challenge. And I popped up a ticket sentiment by Lisa of Allissa Designs Cabin. She'll have new ones after Christmas - I can't wait! ;D

Heather's Coffee Break Blog Hop

Good morning everyone!

Today is the day of Heather's Coffee Break new images release! I am so happy to be a part of this blog hop because Heather is such a wonderful lady and her images are just too awesome to miss!

If you came here by way of Carol (Stamps, Paper, and Ink) then you are on the right track. If not, start at the beginning with Carolyn (P.M.S. etc.) so you don't miss all the fun stuff! Heather will be giving away sweet prizes and all you have to do is leave a comment on each person's blog. Yep, it's as simple as all that!

Here's a card I made using the paper piecing technique. I embellished around the DCWV designer paper so that the piecing could be identified easily. This image is "Coffee Talk Full Length". I ink distressed the edges and propped Miss Sexy on foam dots while she sits there sipping her brew. I added a crochet flower and put an orange brad in the center (kind of matches the heart on the coffee cup doesn't it?). I add a shimmery bow and some pearls to keep that sassy appeal going.

This second card features "Guitar Girl" and as soon as I saw her, she brought back memories of when I was about six years old at a day camp where these young adults played the guitar and taught us songs like "Michael Rowed the Boat Ashore" and "If I had a Hammer..." - ahhh, memories. :-P So I enjoyed coloring her with my Copics, adding buttons and a plaid green heart to go with the DCWV designer papers. I added my favorite sentiment ticket and sang those songs in my mind. What fun!

You can see more of Heather's new digi's in her store (Fresh Brewed Designs). Just think of digital images like paper dolls. Coming from this beautiful and talented lady, these are some fun dolls to play with!

Okay, make sure you leave a comment here so you'll have a chance at the prize Heather has on her blog. Then your next stop will be over at Kelly's (Sandcastle Stamper).

Have fun! ;p

Blog Hop on Wednesday for Heather's Coffee Break

Hey y'all,

I just wanted to give you a sneak peek at what's headed your way...a super fabulous blog hop! That's right, Heather's Coffee Break has a super cool digital release happening this Wednesday and I'm going to be a part of the blog hop! Whoopeee! A bunch of us ladies have prepared some gorgeous paper crafts for you to be inspired by with these new images. Check out her store to see some of her other super sensations!

I made this card from one of her super cool images. Isn't she adorable? I love how easy it was to color her outfit - even thought about paper piecing it...but these colors came to mind and I had papers in my stash (scraps from DCWV), added flowers and buttons to give it a sort of sassy flair. I love Heather's digital images. I hope you like it.

Stay tuned because on Wednesday, we are starting at 9am (EST). I'll have another card for you to gaze upon. :D Get ready for the hop, hop, hop...

Humble Pie...

It's Saturday...I was working on this card yesterday but was King Mufasa beckoned me and I had to put it aside. But at Humble Pie, there is a "lift" challenge and I couldn't resist because it would allow me to use my cute stamps from there that I received from the lovely Leah on one of their blog hops!

These are the cutest images! I was saving these images for something else but I had to join this challenge. Can you imagine -- you just go to Kim B's blog (a link is provided there) and lift one of her beautiful creations! Here's the one I used to lift (the design not the image):

The rest of the talented bakers even show samples of what they have lifted...wow - can you say WOW? Yes, they are gorgeous - so go take a look and join the ranks for a fun filled day at Humble Pie!

Girlfriends...

You know, while I was coloring this sweet image that I got from Heather's Coffee Break, I realized the center of my enjoyment in crafting was coloring images. When I was little, I used to draw "girls" as I called them then. They were much like what Heather's drawn here and I'd talk (to myself) about my friend, what we were doing that day and I'd draw up every piece of paper in the house. Why my mother just didn't buy me a ream of paper back then is beyond me (LOL!). I drew on brown paper sacks - anything! I loved drawing and coloring those girls' clothes.

I had that same enjoyment coloring these girls and paper piecing their jeans. When I look at images, my enjoyment seems to stem from some kind of happy/joy/joy button from long ago. I just know I love a girlfriend story. Once a year, there's an annual "Girlfriend Appreciation Day" here and I go, rallying all my girlfriends and we have a ball. Doesn't this image make you think of your girlfriend?

Well, Heather is preparing a blog hop, which I am included - I was so happy when she asked me. She'll be releasing her new images so mark December 9th (that's next Wednesday) on your calendar and be ready to hop, hop, hop 'til you drop because there will be prizes. I'll have a little goody for those participating too - so stay tuned! :D

Digital Beauties

As you know, The Creative Cottage is sponsoring this week's challenge over at Tellen's Place.

If you didn't know, why not scoot on over there and check things out - there's so much fun going on! ;P

I can't express how much fun I had in creating these cards. As you know, my style is simple and clean cut. These digital kits at The Creative Cottage are perfect for me. Bears are my all time favorite of anything and these are the cutest bears, don't you think? Look how cute this one is in that sweater!

These work well for me because I don't have to color them, just print. In fact, I used Word to print them. I inserted the picture (it comes as a jpeg file), sized it for the card I wanted to make (4.4 x 5.5) and printed. I trimmed a bit here and there, adhered some adhesive and added ribbon and foam dots for a 3D effect.

Tracy actually includes digital "ribbon" in her kits. How cool is that?

Right now, you can even get the freebie kit that is being offered and try it out. Isn't that like the best "preview" ever? Go on check it out! You'll be glad you did - I certainly was! You'll see more images from The Creative Cottage here too.

I hope you enjoyed these as much as I do.

Fa La La La La La La La La

It's challenge time and there's snow all over the place people! I have been having so much fun making these cards, though today was a bit harried because I forgot to make my card for my challenge blog (Tellen's Place) and then to vote on the winner and yadda, yadda, yadda... But, I have two cards to enter into challenges.

The first card is with images from Heather's Coffee Break - yeah, I'm a fan. :) Look at these snowmen playing...I mean, it's too cute! I added that liquid stuff so it looks like they really are on snow; added some plastic snowflakes just because the rest of the card was empty. Don't you love that sentiment ticket? I got it at Allissa's Paper Town - she has new ones and let me tell you - you will get hooked like me. Go check it out! I was like - oh so cool because the challenge at the Cupcake Challenge is for red and green - I printed the ticket in red and found this one that said "Snowmen Playing." How cool is that?

Here's the inside of the card. The paper was like that -- isn't that just too cute?

This next card is of Edward (Tellen's Place) - he is really so cute; all surly...little blop of snow on top of his head, like he fell in it. I really would love to have snow around me during Christmas. So for now, I can pretend.

This card is for:

Papertake Weekly - sketch #29
A Spoon Full of Sugar - non-traditional colors - Christmas card
Design Dollies - snowflakes

Take a walk through these blogs because you will find great cards there. The Design Dollies are real dolls and just inspired me with their lovely cards. They have such warmth over there you won't want to leave it. Go on - go check 'em out! :) Papertake Weekly have oodles of talent that just makes you swoon for paper crafts! A Spoon Full of Sugar is so sweet - take a look-see! ;p

Thanks for stopping by.
