Another Sweet Wednesday

Good morning y'all!

This week Sweet Sketch Wednesday has an adorable sketch that will have you running to your craft table to set this onto paper. Check it out:

Isn't this another fabulous sketch by Arlana great? I love sketches, as you know. Your card can only get better when you follow a sketch like this!

We are sponsored by Inktegrity this week and the prize is a Free Digi Prize from the store - how sweet a deal is that? Joni is the fabulous and creative owner - check out her blog!

I had the pleasure of inking up this little cutie, called the "Happy Crafter". Isn't she cute? Doesn't she remind you of yourself when you were little and playing with paper, cutting out paper dolls and glue was never a loss? The sentiment comes with the digi - now how sweet is that?

So, while you sit back and have your cup of coffee and browse the Google reader, take a trip to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and join the challenge. You'll see some wonderful creations from the rest of the design team. These ladies know how to cook up inspiration like you wouldn't believe!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday #42

Good morning everyone,

Whenever it's Wednesday, you know Sweet Sketch Wednesday is up for a sweet and delicious challenge! This week's sweet sketch, which has been drawn by our lovely Arlana, is so cute, you are just not going to be able to resist it!

Doesn't it look too tempting to resist?

Well, you'll want to head on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and join our challenge because this week, we are honored to have Bugaboo Stamps sponsor us and you are going to faint when you see the prize: SEVEN (7) digi stamps (value of $21). I wish I could enter for that prize! There are so many fantastic images there, you really will have a hard time choosing! You want to know what else is super groovy about Bugaboo Stamps? You get a freebie every Friday!

I had the wonderful opportunity to ink up Stella!

Isn't she the best? I mean, this woman is so much fun to ink up! I can't resist getting more because she speaks volumes on paper - that's hard to do before inking up and putting to delicious designer paper! But all of these images have that fun life-like quality! All I did was add glossy accents to those reading glasses (gotta see what ya reading, right?) and some stickles on her book because one never tires of books no matter how old we get! I love that sentiment!

So, while you're reading the blog reader, check out Bugaboo Stamps and join in on the challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday! My fellow design team mates have created some really dynamite projects to inspire you. You'll just love it! I can't wait to see what you create!

Happy Crafting! ;~)

My dear Fluff...

You know I happened upon a young lady's blog one day and it was just the zaniest blog ever, just had me laughing. Another day, I crept over there and lo, and behold, the humor had me literally laughing out loud and as I went to make a comment, I couldn't! Her family had commented on her blog and were cracking me up. King Mufasa stirred at my laughter and asked what was so funny so I had to read the commentary to him. He grunted (which is his way of laughing). It never ended. I'd get to see a beautifully crafted card with some "home" humor about her brother or how she stashes the goods from her VUH (very understanding hubby) and then some news about Alien (yes, another crafty diva) or even Doc Shingles would come in with a quip or two. But she's got this rather grouchy, but darling, brother, who claims she's bullied him as a child. I don't buy it at all. Oh...and then there's the story about Alien showing her...oh, never mind - you'll have to dash over and keep up with the comedy hour yourself.

The reason for the post is above. Isn't it just the most beautiful lot to open in the mail? Push the bills aside and lookee here...I was just so touched. I didn't even know who had sent it. King Musfasa read the card (I didn't recognize the return address), which reads: "Terry, you are such a kind and lovely lady. I couldn't let your generosity go by without a token of gratitude! Hugs Faye" (aka FluffnStuff) - I love the paper - the bears are my favorite (I love teddy bears) and the flowers; did you see the cute Love charms and the frame...the stamped images - love them because I don't have any of those...and the card is so delightful (will have to scraplift that), will go in my "blogger friends" mini album I'm making.

*sigh* She really is a sweetheart, isn't she? I hadn't done anything. She doesn't realize that just stopping by her blog is such a heart warming thrill, I'm the one who needs to send her gifts! (Oh, I shall - she sells Stampin' Up, so I'll order something from her catalog!). Her mother, Mrs. A, is also very crafty - you should check out her blog too!

Isn't it wonderful to discover beautiful people in the world, no matter how far? It's heaven.

Thank you, Fluff! You really are a treasure!

The Ms. Bright Side Award

Can you feel the love? That's what Sandy's blog read because she was given more awards and guess what - she shared them. Isn't she awesome? I just love Sandy - she is so incredibly sweet, not to mention talented! You know something else - she passed them on to some fabulous people; one of which is ME! Woohoo! :D

So, I'm supposed to list 10 things about myself (that make me happy) and share 5 bits of trivia about myself. I always worry about this part because I'm thinking everyone already knows stuff about me and I don't want to bore anyone (trust me, I can be quite boring). So here goes - ten things that make me happy:

1. God
2. King Mufasa
3. Crafting
4. Reading
5. Writing
6. Day Dreaming
7. Being super organized
8. Shopping
9. Giving
10. Friendships

Five bits of trivia about me...

1. My most rewarding experience as a member of IAAP, I've traveled all over the U.S. and met so many people - a life time of memories and exciting places.
2. I've been to Africa and experienced cultures out of my mind's eye (just imagination in a book) that has taught me many humbling lessons.
3. For as many people that I have met and friends I have made, I'm probably the loneliest woman I know.
4. I'm the middle sibling in both my families (second child (though illegitimate) of three in one family; middle between three elder and three younger, middle between two sisters, two brothers older, two brothers younger).
5. I am a social butterfly but always observing.

Now here's the hard part. You have to pick five people to give this award to. I wouldn't want to miss anyone so I'm going to do as Sandy as done. If you have never received this award (and I've not seen it around much myself), please take it and put it on your blog. Please let me know you did this so I can come around and read all the cool stuff about you that I'm sure I don't know. :P

Thank you Sandy for picking me for this sweet little gift. You really are the sunshine that perks me up when I need it most! :~)

Have a great week everyone!

Flowers

Hello happy bloggers!

If you are looking for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Hop, please scroll down.

Making flowers has proven to be a cumbersome task for me but Glue Scissors Paper wanted the design team to come up with that in this week's challenge. Back in January, I started searching for a tutorial that would help me and through countless videos and tutorials, I finally found a few that I actually could do with ease. Here's how I got started.

I didn't have a scallop punch so I used the plastic scallop template I had.

Once I had opened the flowers, added glimmer mist, I used gold stickles on the edges.

Then I saw a tutorial for a basket on Just Magnolia (or Bev's) and added these flowers to it.

Then, I just went on YouTube and did a bunch of flowers to see what I could come up with. All in all, this was a challenging but very FUN project! The design team were busy making some beauties of their won. I'm sure you have some great flowers you can add by joining the Glue, Scissors, Paper challenge. Go on, go have some fun!

Happy Crafting!

Ippity and Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Sweet day to you, my blogger friends!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday is here again to bring you a fun sketch to follow in our challenge this week.

This sketch is designed by SSW's blog owner and designer, Arlana. She really makes it easy if you have trouble putting your image to a design. You just follow her sweet sketches - easy peasy, as they say.

This week, we are honored to have KELLY, from Ippity stamps sponsoring us. How sweet is that? The winner will win an Ippity stamp set of his/her choice. Check out the Ippity store here and see what you might find delicious to win when you join the challenge.

My card is made with various papers (DCWV spring collection from last year) and paper from a blogger pal in the UK. My flower is a Prima with Wild Orchard rose in the middle. The ribbon is from my prize stash I won in the All About Me Challenge. I inked the sweet sentiment and put it at the top so that the rick-rack ribbon could be send - sort of a tail to the flower. I added a small pearl "stone" to the center of the stamped flower. These little beauties were given to me by the same blogger friend in the UK - lovely, isn't it?

I hope you check out Sweet Sketch Wednesday and join in the challenge. Don't forget to browse the blogs of my DT buddies. They really know how to rock this sketch and their designs are always gorgeous!

Also, mark your calendars for Sweet Sketch Wednesday's Bunny Hop, sponsored by Digi Stamp Boutique, which will be held March 19 - 21st! I'm planning to create something really cool especially for this bunny hop, so stay tuned. How sweet it is! ;-)

Happy Day!

Hello everyone,

When I returned from the Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook convention in Las Vegas, a box was at my doorstep. I had a feeling who it was from because she'd mentioned that she was sending me this and it was so nice to come home to.

Judy is such a wonderful person that I am so happy to have as my blogger friend. When I started Tellen's Place, Judy was one of the many special people who consistently commented on my cards, encouraging me every step of the way. To this day, she continues to support me, commenting on things I've made, making me feel so very crafty. Isn't it great to have someone like that in your crafting hemisphere? So, Judy had made a beautiful card (the one in the back with the beautiful butterfly she cut with her Cricut) and the cute flowers - she did such a great job. She sent it to me - isn't she sweet? Look at the beautiful jewelry she sent me. I love what the green placard says: "Luck - May good luck be your friend in whatever you do and may trouble be always a stranger to you." Amen to that! ;~)

Thank you Judy for the wonderful gift - it was so nice to come home to it! ;) I really do appreciate your thoughtfulness, my friend!

I was so behind on my blogger duties and felt bad because I hadn't been able to check the blogger reader or e-mails at the hotel in San Diego though they claim they had wireless internet services. Even while in Vegas, I had about 10 minutes to check things and had forgotten to post the card for one of my DT challenges (from a scheduled post at that).

I was so surprised to see this award from Bobbi. I was so touched by her thoughtfulness. When you have time, check out her blog and see her lovely creations! Thank you for thinking of me Bobbi! I'm supposed to list 7 things about myself and pass it on to 15 other people. I will post this award on my sidebar and want to continue to "pay it forward" but wanted to acknowledge these two wonderful ladies and thank them for their thoughtfulness.

Thanks everyone for stopping by to "listen." I hope the rest of your week is delightful! ;~)

Now where's my purse?

Greetings everyone!

Glue, Scissors, Paper is having a fabulous challenge this week: Purses! Now, I'm not talking about Nine West (my favorite), Coach, Gucci or any of those purses that we have in our closet that costs so much!

The design team was tasked to make a purse and although we were provided with a fantastic tutorial reference, I found an easier one. Check it out:

This is the front. It's a very simple template that requires more folding in the right direction than cutting. I added ribbon to make a border, blue sheer ribbon to go with the "baby boy" theme of blue. The other blue ribbon is used for handles. The folded outcome is two pockets, which I have filled with tags.

This is the back view, where I have adhered plastic baby bottles - aren't they cute?

The tags were cut using my Cricut. I added cute stickers and even made a pocket on one of the tags to hold more tags.

I added a square pocket with a half circle top - stamped a sentiment, added some other die-cuts I had to give it more room for journaling or pictures.

Here, more tags with some bling on the daisy that serves as a topper for a tag. Look, there's even a folio that opens up. There's a house stamped and I colored it with colored pencils.

This was a fun project - another way to utilize a mini album - would make a great gift for the mom-to-be or grandmother brag book. We can always use another purse, right?

So, while you sip your morning coffee and browse the blog reader, why not check out Glue, Scissors, Paper and check out what the rest of the DT has made. These ladies are sure to bring out the need for another purse in you.

Have a beautiful day y'all! ;~)

Sweet Sketch #39

'Tis a sweet day today, that being Sweet Sketch Wednesday, don't 'cha know! :-P

Well, this post is scheduled because King Mufasa and I will be running for the airport for a trip to sunny San Diego for a quick stop (spend some time with Markus) before heading to Las Vegas for the Rubber Stamp Expo and meeting up with my DT Coordinator for Tellen's Place (and friend), Michelle-aka Sunshine! Woohoo!

Today, Arlana has this really easy sketch that I know you'll love trying out too. It's really amazing how she comes up with these different sketches that are so fun to make!

This week, we are being sponsored by KLM Digital Designs and the folks there are offering 3 FREE digi's of your choice as the prize - how sweet is that? Why not take a sneak peek to see what's in store when you put your project into the challenge and you win...lots of fun stuff to choose!

I picked up this cute turtle and paper pieced him (the shell and his face, legs and arm). I even added crackle accents to give his shell a bit of gloss (didn't have glossy accents, but it is on my list). I pierced the paper to kind of bring out a little something extra, added dew drops, ribbon that I won from the All About Me challenge (I won a LOT of ribbon, y'all - woohoo!) and patterned paper from DCWV - the spring pack I bought last year.

While you're enjoying your cuppa whatever...why not stop at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and take a look at the wonderful projects the rest of the DT have laid out. These ladies are super talented and never fail to inspire me, so I know they'll do the same for you.

I hope you join the challenge and I'll be looking for ya! Have a berry sweet day!

Edited 3/5/10---I'm in Vegas...here's the card - sorry about that folks! ;-P

Something...

Well, here's Monday looking at you - sun hiding behind the clouds making a sort of murky day; but still a day to create a card, right?

Pollycraft Monday is one of the first blogs I won something on and I was so delighted to have a digital image that I used the image on just about everything. I love Paula's images and had to take a break from coloring "Cookie Ally" and "Sophie" for the Las Vegas Rubber Stamp Expo. Michelle and I are making ATC's to pass out and I have 100 of them to finish coloring - should've started this some time ago, huh? I'll show you once I'm done with them.

So at the Pollycraft Monday challenge, they are looking for your distressing. This is the card I'm entering into this challenge. I've gotten the hang of that little technique and though I don't do a LOT of it, it's enough to put on a card and brighten up some of the stark white spaces we hate to see.

This is a fun challenge - why not take a look and join in. The DT has made a nice array of beautifully designed cards to help inspire you.

Have a craftastic day! ;~)
