Utube Name Plate

Happy Friday y'all!

I have been trying to keep busy (instead of nibbling or watching the boob-tube)...so I've managed to hang in with the crafty ladies over at Mini Album Swaps.  The challenge for this month was to make a U-Tube sign/name plate.  I had one back in 2010 but I think it was trashed so here's what I submitted for the challenge:

Blue being my favorite color and flowers something that really speaks "beautiful" without uttering a word, I settled on this design.  Most of the flowers are Recollections; some made by a lovely blogger friend and one or another from swaps that I'd been in during 2010 and so on.

Though I'm not keen on doing the "backs" of things, I did pretty this one up with paper from DCWV Linen stack, some inspiring phrases from some inspirational stack; aligned with digital tickets from a blogger friend in the UK.

I'm really proud of this creation and it comes in handy when doing vids so onlookers don't have to stare at a blank slate when I'm yapping before I show the goods.

What are you up to this Easter weekend?

It's a Masquerade...Tag Swap

Yep...another swap for me at MAS...

Lia hosted a tag swap at Mini Album Scraps and the theme was "It's a Masquerade!"  I love masquerades and tags, so this one was calling out to me.  Here's what I made:

We had to make four tags and one for ourselves to keep.  I made the standard tag, covered it with DCWV designer paper, added stickles to some of the music notes, adhered a dress form that I traced; dressed her in tule and ribbon from Hobby Lobby; added matching flowers; copied the mask from clip art and adhered it to chipboard, stickled or pearl laced a few and added a feather to each one; then I topped the tag off with fiber (fun fur yarn).

I loved this tag! I can't wait to see Lia's video of everyone else's tags - hers was outstanding.  Click here to see her video.

Artsy Fartsy Swap at MAS

Hey y'all,

I've always enjoyed swapping (for the most part) and have taken up with a new NING site (MAS) where the crafters are brilliant!  Here's the result of one of the swaps I've entered, which was the Artsy Fartsy Altered Ticket swap hosted by Suzy Q.  Click here to see her video of all the tickets.

The first set was pretty simple.  I just used K&C designer paper, added pearls, digi tickets and a few bits and pieces to make each one stand out and ink distressed the edges.

The second set is my favorite because I stamped the tickets (1" x 2" on a 5 ticket strip), ink distressed the edges with Ranger's Tea Dye, added some bling and a butterfly (you had to use different colors for the swap).

It was fun making these little gems.  If you watch the video, you'll see some really groovy ones; can't wait to get mine in the mail...teehee...

Swapping...this and that....

Ahhh...it's Sunday...time to relax...

Well...for those who don't have to work - it's a perfect day, isn't it? The sun is shining and I even heard birds chirping this morning - spring is on it's way...goodbye winter...

Yes, I've been stamping on manila folders; ink distressing and just having a blast.  I've joined in on the next month's swap of altered tickets at Mini Album Scraps (MAS).   My buddy Q (Suzie Q) is the hostess...woop, woop!

Yep, had to get the liquid pearls out and stickles for this project.  Stay tuned and once I mail these bad boys, I'll show you the finished project.  Don't you just love mysteries? Tee-hee...

Meander and things...

Hi everyone!

Another week has zoomed by...and there's so much crafting to still be done....

Last week, Jam and Terri Anne knew I was headed toward paper bag mini album making but no matter how many videos I watched to get me going in the right direction, I was distracted and starting making those "itty bitty mini's" from Mini Album Scraps.  Look at my desk:

Now, this is what my desk looked like for the last mini.  I was wanting to do something shabby chic; one of the swaps happening at MAS.  Here's two of the mini's I completed first...because it started out being fun...

I went searching in my cabinet and found this beautiful black and white paper from Michael's and using already cut ATC chipboard, I made a mini!

The more videos I watched, the more I wanted to do that itty bitty mini for a swap.  So I went to SCS and did the meander thing...leave it to me to goof that up...I then watched the video and had better luck at getting it done somewhat properly.  But decorating it...my fingers are just too big for an itty...LOL!!

You can check out my YouTubeChannel to see more of the inside of these mini's.
