Tellen's Place Button Challenge

Good morning everyone!

Don't you just love Fridays? It ends the week and starts the weekend!

King Mufasa had to go to Morocco because his father is in the hospital and has to have heart surgery. It's weird not having him around but the place is nice and tidy! ;-) You know you have to make a joke so you don't cry because you miss him more than you thought you would!

Tellen's Place, my other blog, is having a challenge this week - buttons! I love buttons but the Divas really made some great designs with their buttons - you can check them out here.

I used my art journal for this project, using MS's border punch on the papers. My SU scallop punches always come in handy for those sentiments. My image is a TPD digital image drawn by my son Markus. You can see more of these images at the store.

I hope you have a wonderful day and super fun weekend! Happy Crafting! :-)

Another Mini

Hello there everyone!

As you know I have been on a mini album fun frenzy. After making the ones for my family (I still have to put in the photos of our parents), I found more fabulous papers from K&Company and even DCWV, so I thought, you know, these will be fun. I can't wait to show you the one I'm working on. But here is one I made from a "Paper" swap I did last year on Life on the Scrap Beach.

I received all the papers, embellishments and flowers as a part of this swap. Aren't these sun flowers delightful?

I wanted to highlight the pretty papers in the album so on some pages, I used the card stock Irene sent to help coordinate that effort.

That big pretty sunflower is too cute to cover up. The brads came in the kit as well and go well with the flowers she had in there. I removed the plastic stem from the flower and added those copper brads. Irene made those cute tags that work well with this "Autumn" themed mini album.

I'm just loving these sun flowers.

The papers are really gorgeous - I forget where they came from (the manufacturer).

Don't you just love that little library card for the tag? That was a good way to keep highlighting the beautiful papers.

The folio works well here with the papers - just couldn't hide that beautiful vine.

She even made that cloth flower and so I added the lovely pearls to end the page. It was the best paper kit swap I've been in.

Thanks for stopping by and having a peek! Have a wonderful day!

Time for Tilda

Hello everyone,

Awhile back, my dear friend, Sandra, had sent me a number of Tilda stamps as she knew how much I adored inking that little image up.

So I did ink up a bunch and here's one. My design team member, Joyce loves purple and in celebration of her birthday today, I thought I'd post this little joy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Joyce!

Happy Crafting everyone! :~)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Good morning lovely bloggers!

Today is Sweetest Day, the day to envelope chocolaty goodness and to share sweets with your love. For me, Valentine's Day is easy to wrap sweetness in. King Mufasa will enjoy the contents of this little craft more than its creativeness.

A few weeks ago, I posted a sneak peek of this little goody which is a smaller version of the box I made that shows similar 4 drawers on a shorter but wider plain. After I made it, I knew what to make King Mufasa for Valentine's Day.

I knew I wanted the four drawers to be on top of one another as a single unit. I glued each drawer on top of one another and added a bottom and top chipboard piece to keep it steady.

But it looked a bit plain, so I added this fabulous red glittery ribbon I found at Michael's at 50% off - how groovy was that? I added the flowers and it became a bit more elegant. I thought King Mufasa might even like my pin that I had made for a swap last year (kept one of these beauties for myself).

Now King Mufasa is not going to see this and think oh, how creative my wife is - he's going to want something inside. So I slipped those miniature chocolate sweets inside - he has a sweet tooth every now and again. He can keep this on his desk at work and snack every once in awhile.

With the leftover paper, I was able to make a cute card for him to cherish. (yeah, right - much like he'll have the cute drawer on his desk so the guys can tease him).

I like to keep it simple, no mushy words - just the facts, jack! :-) Oh, yeah, I better sign it, huh?

Thanks for stopping by to take a look. Here's hoping you're having the sweetest Valentine's Day too!

Happy Sweet Crafting! :~)

Scrap it...

Good morning everyone!

I hope you are enjoying this wonderful weekend. Hopefully the sun is out and you're able to really enjoy the fun. Otherwise, what a great crafting day it becomes, right?

My lovely friend and Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Lisa, sent me a card last year and I kept it to put in my little mini album that I plan to make. Well, I caught site of it and thought - hey, I should scraplift this and use up my scraps - that paper pile is getting too big. Isn't her yellow card cute? She makes the most fantastic things that you can see on her blog, as well as tips, tricks and techniques; not to mention fun challenges (one of which I just won).

I put together some colors of card stock and the strip that goes across the card.

I folded each card stock in half and scored it to make a harder crease on the fold.

I cut up the scraps in the usual piles (5.5 x 4.5, 6 x 6) and then I used my SU! punches for those small scraps that just don't bear throwing out.

These little note cards will come in handy when I'm sending stuff for swaps, etc. Just a little something - something. *smile* What about you? What do you do with your scraps that you can't bear tossing in the trash?

You can see more of Lisa's fabulous crafty goodness on her blog, "Peanuts and Peppers Papercrafting." Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Crafting! :~)

Shopping at Pizzazz Aplenty!

Hey y'all!

Have you ever went to an online store and walked right out after seeing that there really wasn't anything there exciting and the prices were too high anyway? Don't you love it when you go to an online store and see fantastic stuff AND bargains galore? Well, when my blogger buddy, Diane (1Card Creator) posted one of her many fabulous creations and mentioned she'd gotten a load of great crafts at a great price from Pizzazz Aplenty, I HAD to check it out.

King Mufasa had given me an allowance and I spent a little at the store, happily! When it arrived, I was so excited! There was a special and if you ordered so much, you got free stuff!

Look at my free goodies! There's more:

Free samples! Now how cool is that? This is a great way to get your customer to try your products because if we like it (now, who could ignore that beautiful lace!?), they will be back to buy!

Most importantly, they'll create - isn't that dragonfly brad cute? I'd never have purchased it had Judy (the owner) not given me a sample. I love it on this card. See the flat Mulberry flower, pink twine, butterfly and the pretty green rosette? When my order came in, I knew I wanted to create a simple card (designer paper and card stock are from Stampin' Up!).

The flat Mulberry flower is great here with the blue rosette and butterfly and the twine matches perfectly. Yay - no more brown twine on everything I make! :-)

The best part of this experience was the customer service, like Diane said. Judy is phenomenal! (Thanks Diane!) She noticed I had ordered the color of the twine that was in her "free" package so she told me she would make a substitute -- even letting me pick the color I wanted. (Thanks Judy!) My package arrived the same week and I couldn't wait to craft. I love these simple cards! I'll make a set for someone special - how cool is that?!

I have some more to spend and am going to send some sweetness to some buddies across the water who have been sending me some cool stuff - this is a nice way for me to thank them don't you think? :-) If you haven't already, you should check out Pizzazz Aplenty - follow the blog so you don't miss the specials! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by - have a great week! I'm going shopping.... :-)

Happy Crafting! :~)

Hearts Challenge

Hello everyone!

We have a great challenge over at Tellen's Place this week and it's all about the hearts!

I ink distressed a doily and added it to the designer paper after border punching it with MS's floral vine punch as well as punching the card stock. I then added gems in the upper right hand corner and some heart gems on the center of the flowers. The glitter heart die cut stickers came in handy and I added diamond dust to the heart the TPD image is holding.

This one is my favorite as it was made with handmade papers I received from Monica . It's gorgeous paper, isn't it? To add to it, I took hearts given to me by friends and added VersaMark ink so that I could emboss them in gold. The embossed heart came from Diane and worked perfect with this journal page. The peel off corners and border strip helped to frame it so it looks like a card. The TPD image has diamond dust on the wings.

Thanks for stopping by. It would be fun to join Tellen's Place "Hearts" challenge! There's also a free image I added for Cupid's sake. :-) Click here to get a copy.

Happy Crafting! :~)

All Boxed Up...

Hello there wonderful bloggers!

I think the weather in some places where the snow and ice storms are keeping people in - well, I feel a little boxed in myself.

Hmmm...wonder what in the world could that be?

You guessed it - a box. I just love boxes, containers...anything to keep things in order . That way, I don't have to look at an unorganized mess. :-)

Some of you may remember when I first made one of these and gave to my first design team back in 2009. The girls loved it and so I made sure to include the link so that they could make one of their own. I filled each drawer with crafty goodies. I made another box similar to this for King Mufasa for Valentine's Day. Here's a sneak peek:

So, stay tuned and I'll show the card and box so that you can see the variations can be endless when you're crafting. :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Crafting! :~)
