A Little Something...

Good morning everyone!

If you've been following me for awhile, you know that I fell in love with mini albums and even attempted to make my own. You can see the first one that I made for my swap partner a year ago on You Tube - just click here.

I have made a bunch and each time, they get better and better (at least I think so). Here's my latest:

I am trying to get my handmade flowers to a better shape but so far...this works. I think I'll find another punch or there might be a nice 6 petal one in one of the Cricut cartridges I have. The paper is K&Company.

In the corners, I used the peel-offs I received from my UK buddy, Lyn. These really work well everywhere! See the butterflies on the next page?

The border punches make great pockets for the tags. I used scraps of the paper to make more flowers and inserted flowers from Wild Orchid for the center.

One of the paper had a bunch of cherries and limes so I cut it out to make a pocket.

Again, the scraps became usable by using my heart punch and making a collage tag on one side (ink distressed the other side of the tag).

It's a simple colorful mini with plenty of space for pictures. I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by.

Peanuts and Peppers' Card Challenge

Happy Friday!

I love Stampin' Up! products because the papers easily coordinate with so many things like the ink, ribbon, buttons, etc. I am in Lisa's hostess program so that once a month, I spend a small amount to collect the things I want. But I digress...on to Lisa's challenge:

The challenge was step-by-step directions each week, starting with the basics: card stock.

I love SU's card stock because it is sturdy. I cut the base (red) 8-1/2 x 11 into two and did the same for the white (one panel will go inside so that I can write on it).

Layers are important.

Add an image and sentiment and your card is almost done.

For the white card stock, I punched a border using my SU border punch.

I added a bow and gem stones to bring it on home. Wasn't that easy? If you'd like to see some really awesome crafts, check out Lisa's blog - she's so awesome!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sew Done....

Hello lovely bloggers!

I have been busy, inspired by the ever talented Mrs. A. Of course, I am not as talented as this lady is - I'm still in awe of her craftiness. Nonetheless, I was inspired to get out that big fat sewing machine, slam it on the craft desk (having made room for this monstrous beast) and set out to sew something.

I had all my sewing tools ready. Let me tell, I always need that blasted seam ripper! Can you guess what the pattern is?

Well, here's the body all done - just need to attach some arms and ears to this little darling.

There she is - my little bunny rabbit. Well, it isn't really little, but very cuddly.

I thought the first one was so much fun to make, why not make another and so I did. Oops, she needs a nose and mouth doesn't she? Uh-oh, she needs more than that!

Oh yes, we can't these little lovelies hopping about without a cute dress and britches, now can we? I started making a pinafore and the little gray cells ceased to function and so we made a vest and it turned out quite cute after all.

These little darlings won't be staying in California because they're a nice little gift for twin girls living in the UK. *smile* I'm told they'll be a welcomed addition to the cozy little home.

I hope you're all staying warm and enjoying the weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

Something Different...

Hello you gorgeous crafters!

It is already the second week of January and though I've taken on a sewing project, I am also doing mini albums and think it's time to do something different. Art Journal:

The front of this blank card stock spiral book is decorated with Mariposa paper - isn't it gorgeous? I added these beautiful butterflies that were sent to me from the UK by my good friend, Diva Sandra!

Tellen's Place is having a fabulous challenge this week - ribbons! I was the lucky recipient of a huge bag of ribbon as a prize from AAM challenge last year and let me tell you, I am forever using it.

Typically, the art journal is filled with artistic designs from the user like what I doodled below.

However, I am using this book to make my design team submissions (see above for the Diva in pink) since I don't always have a recipient for the cards I've been making (except to send the lot to the troops). Whatever the reason, these blank books are perfect for all of your crafting needs! One of my DT's is going to do the same but she's using a scrap book - very cool isn't it?!

Happy New Year 2011!

Happy New Year y'all!

Wow, here it is 2011 and I can remember back in the '70's when we thought the new millennium would be all about space travel. Well, it's certainly about blog travel isn't it?

I want to thank all of you who have traveled onto my blog, leaving wonderful messages, and encouraging me with my crafts. I have enjoyed this adventure and look forward to seeing more of your gorgeous creations and learning new techniques to add to my own repertoire.

Here's wishing you all a fantastic and exciting crafting experience in 2011!

Happy Crafting in this New Year! :~)
